OUR PROGRAMS

SPOTLIGHT

The SPOTLIGHT Program is designed to identify candidate students for the Opportunity Scholar Program and other potential future Oher Foundation programs. Its goal is to select the students who would benefit most from the support of the Oher Foundation.

THE KIDS

STUDENT INDENTIFICATION

Identify potential candidates eligible for our programs via online forum entries or ambassador recommendations.

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

Assess applications based on program criteria to identify initial potential scholars for the program.

SECONDARY EVALUATION

Conduct reviews of the potential scholar's gauged interest, character, family, economic needs, teacher referrals, and academic aptitude for final candidate selections.

STUDENT ENROLLMENT

Scholars are placed through the application and enrollment process at our applicable school partners for final scholar selections.

SOCIOECONOMIC NEED

We seek to provide opportunities to families and students whose financial standing requires the most support.

DISADVANTAGED OF CIRCUMSTANCE

We seek students who require specialized support that is unavailable to them in the public education system.

ACADEMIC POTENTIAL

We seek students who would benefit academically from the opportunities provided, while also being capable of succeeding in enhanced and variable environments with proper support.

STRENGTH OF CHARACTER

We seek students who understand that success requires dedication and hard work. Ideal candidates will have the character and work ethic to take advantage of the program offerings.

The OPPORTUNITY Scholar Program strives to provide motivated students from underprivileged backgrounds the opportunities, resources, and inspiration they need to succeed in school and in life.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Parents or students interested in enrolling in the Oher Foundation programs at one of our partner schools may start the application process online through this form.

Please note that while there are many students and families who may benefit from our program services, there are limited spots open for new students to join.

While it is the Oher Foundation's goal to select student of the greatest need and highest potential for our programs, we hope to continue to expand the opportunities we offer to even more students in the future.

After submitting the form, if you are selected as an applicable candidate for the program, you will be contacted by a member of the team on instructions of next steps in the application process.

If you are applying in the calendar year prior to the effective school year, applications will only be made available via the online form.

Please do not attempt further correspondence after application unless contacted first as staff is limited to the review of applications only.
